Duocell cone woofers

“The 17 cm woofer of the Minorca MC40 is equipped with a Duocell cone designed by Cabasse and manufactured using Cabasse robotics. The diaphragm, extremely light yet rigid and well‑damped, features an exponential profile and variable thickness to fully exploit the dynamic qualities of long‑throw motors and a high force factor. This provides all the precision and liveliness required for true high‑fidelity sound, faithful to live performance.

Crossovers with variable slopes

The Cabasse development protocol combines numerous measurements in an anechoic chamber, integrating results both on‑axis and at 360°. It ensures perfect control of the directivity index as well as the total radiated power across the entire frequency bandwidth, in accordance with SCS principles. This process, together with listening sessions, is a key step in the design of crossover boards. The slopes can vary from 6 to 24 dB per octave for optimal acoustic tuning, taking into account the influence of the enclosure’s external shape to maximize the qualities of coaxial drive units.
